New York Institute of Culinary Education Tour
On Sunday, August 15th we had the pleasure of touring the New York Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) and their hydroponics farm. Their hydroponics room is located within the school and grows more than 250 crop varieties.
Students at the school can take classes on sustainable food sourcing with hydroponics systems and they stress the nutritional benefits of picking ingredients fresh. To quote our tour guide, a permanent professor at ICE and a recipe developer for a sustainable food magazine, “Fresh is always better”.
