POP QUIZ!

Which of these needle-felted fruits and veggies can NOT be grown hydroponically?

A) Snap peas

B) Carrots

C) Strawberries

The correct answer is B - carrots. Carrots are a root vegetable, which means they cannot be grown hydroponically. Legume vegetables like snap peas and berries like strawberries, however, are able to be grown hydroponically, all year round, regardless of your location. The Deep Water Culture (DWC) system is a great way to hydroponically grow snap peas. The wicking system is a great way to grow small plants like strawberries.

Root vegetables, including turnips, onions, garlic, potatoes, and rutabaga, are not able to be grown hydroponically. These are examples of vegetables you would not get from the Fable Freezer Refrigerator, and you would rely on your local grocery store to obtain these root vegetables.
